A Towering Treat of Mixes!

I've been making quite a bunch of mixtapes lately. Being a bedroom DJ, mastering the Virtual DJ software, mixing tunes left and right...it's really a thrill.

Here's my recent output, starting with the mix for this month. It's more focused on funky disco, elcetro house than fidget. I like to change it up sometimes. Click Play to listen and unveil the track list.

Two Mixtapes to Enjoy...Just Because.

It's been a month since I posted here. I've been busy looking for work (no luck so far). To make up for my absence, I will post two mixes I made recently. The first one is my July mix, stocked with fidget, electro, and others. It starts off to a slow beat, but then it heads to the tunes that will make you get up and dance (or at the least, bob your head).

The next one is called the "Just Because" mix. I really enjoy making mixes, so out of nowhere, I would feel like making some. This one is 45 minutes of fidget tunes, ending with a regular house track. I decided to make a "Just Because" recurring theme, so expect another one coming soon!

Two Mixes For Pure Enjoyment

Being a so-called "Bedroom DJ" is really fun. I am starting to quickly hone my skills using virtual DJ, using less and less easy buttons and features on the software. I think I'm ready to get some turntables!

I first heard Nick Supply's latest single- a redo of the popular house hit "It's a Fine Day"- in Kelevra's PottyMouth Mix, and I was hooked! I really enjoyed how Nick infused the track with some crazy bass!

Greetings one and all!

Welcome to the blog of AhmedTheHead, bedroom DJ extraordinaire.

Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Ahmed and I'm a 20 -year old college junior. My dream job is to become a successful filmmaker. However, I have been gaining interest of music lately. Ever since I first heard "The Rockefeller Skank" on Radio Disney, I was introduced into the world of electronica. Listening to tunes from artists like Fatboy, Daft Punk, The Wiseguys, Basement Jaxx, Todd Terry, Kenny Dope, and Armand Van Helden, I was quickly hooked into big beat and house music. My MP3 player is loaded with electronic music.

Lately, I've been hooked into the infectious, hilarious craziness that is fidget house. The beats, the cartoonish basslines, I just love it! I've listened to plenty of fidget tunes from the talents of Stupid Fresh, Herve, HiJack, Heavyfeet, Lee Mortimer, Nick Supply, Zodiac Cartel, Foamo, Royal K, and plenty others. It influenced me to try out DJing.

Using Virtual DJ, I've been teaching myself skills on how to mix and so on, and I'm getting good! Perhaps being a DJ would be a great dream job just in case the filmmaker gig doesn't work out.

As for the name AhmedTheHead, it came from my head when I was thinking up a user name for the ToonZone forums.
